As a leading provider of personal transportation solutions, we embrace the environmental and social pillars of sustainability to strengthen our five-year growth strategy of consolidating the largest retail sector in the country.

Our 2020 Corporate Responsibility Report shares our goals for protecting the environment and promoting the well-being of our people. We are excited to highlight areas in which our collective corporate responsibility efforts are making a positive difference.

We are Taking personal ownership to steer consumers towards greener purchasing decisions and habits. In 2020, we electrified that effort with the launch of GreenCars.com, which aims to spark more sustainable-vehicle adoptions by educating U.S. consumers on electric vehicles. In addition, the website details coverage of our ever-expanding, EV-charging network.

Earning customers for life means serving them wherever, whenever, and however they desire. While Greencars.com meets the needs of consumers interested in eco-friendly vehicles, we also expanded our consumer channels by launching Driveway—our new e-commerce, shop-from-home, vehicle-ownership experience—to give customers another innovative option of taking care of business.

Several of our dealerships were honored in the past year for either being Green Dealers or ranking as one of the Best Dealerships to Work For in 2020. By Having fun and fostering a well-oiled, work-life balance, we retain the talent that helps us live our Mission of Growth powered by people.

Always looking ahead, on Earth Day 2021, we will be introducing our new GreenKids Program. This program will partner Lithia dealerships in different states with local high schools to create an educational opportunity to increase awareness and knowledge regarding eco-friendly vehicles.

Our mission is Growth Powered by People, because our growth as a company is primarily fueled by the individual growth and inspiration contributed by the people who make up our team. Our History

Walt DeBoer started Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. In 1968, Walt’s son, Sid, stepped in to replace his father and grew the business to include five stores and 19 franchises in southern Oregon. In December 1996, Sid transformed Lithia Motors, Inc., into a publicly traded company (NYSE: LAD), with an IPO of $11 per share. In 2012, Bryan DeBoer was named CEO of Lithia Motors.

Our Brands

Lithia offers 33 new vehicle makes and numerous used vehicle brands nationwide. We are happy to report that many of our manufacturer partners have made massive strides in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) space. Many have improved showroom designs to increase energy efficiency or have begun offering greater selections of electric and hybrid vehicles. Lithia is committed to working with our manufacturer partners to reduce our footprint together.
